Having become unemployed, I have discovered a certain joy in searching for a job. Looking at the various jobs I could have is like looking at a catalog of futures. Each job opportunity offers in itself a path to travel down. I wonder which path I will take?

J. L. Kauffman is currently a freelance writer and photographer living in Windsor, CO. As a child Jake was home schooled, went to a Waldorf elementary school, and unschooled during high school.
